| Dementieva retires against Likhovtseva |
This year has been disappointing so far.
Elena Dementieva had to retire against Elena Likhovtseva while trailing 6-2 1-1 in the match. According to early reports, she had breathing problems. Let's hope she's fine and recovers really well. Her next tournament will be Indian Wells where she has a lot of points to defend. I'll update this blog if there are developments about Elena's condition. |

Wasn't Elena one of the fittest and most injury-free players on the women's tour for a long time. This year something gives. I think Elena has lost her motivation or all this travel non-stop has taken its toll. Anyways, I hope she can bounce back quick.
