FINALLY!!!! Elena Wins GOLD!

The best day of my life as Elena Dementieva's fan has finally come. She won the Gold Medal at the Beijing Olympics, defeating Dinara Safina 3-6 7-5 6-3.

I am so happy. That final point, the forehand winner from Elena was just amazing! All those years of disappointments and missed chances are all totally worth it! Thank you Elena. I am sure you are so happy right now and that make us so happy as well. You totally earned and deserved that Gold medal girl!

Congratulations Elena! I hope this win propels you to even more greater achievements in the future!

Such a great victory for Elena! The best moment for me watching the match was actually her embrace with Safina, bringing back memories from when they won Fed Cup together in 2005.

The Gold medal has encrusted white jade, only the Gold medal has it...and it belongs to Elena!

Really respect Elena, she never complains about having too many matches and actually enjoys the hard work. She's said before that if she wasn't a tennis player she'd be a runner. She's a phenomenal athlete.
