| Elena edges Santangelo to Berlin 2nd Round |
Hi guys! Just an update...
Elena Dementieva defeated Mara Santangelo 4-6 6-1 6-4 in a 2 hour, 18 minute match which consisted of wind gusts, rain delays and a flurry of double faults.
I only followed the match through live scores. Santangelo led 3-0 in the final set but Elena broke back to keep it on serve at 2-3. And then there was a delay. After that it was mostly Elena.
Next up would either be Tathiana Garbin or Meghann Shaughnessy. Garbin is playing well lately but so did Santangelo.

I watched the match live yesterday.
It was a good match , lots of rally. Although elena got a lot of double faults, but her heavy groudstrokes and greater movement always make her the better between the two players.Even though Santangelo tried to hit the ball side to side, elena was able to return them all back with superb movement.Great job lena! Hope those injuries wont trouble u anymore. All the best for next match.
